The World Economic Forum’s 2030 agenda includes the strangely ominous dictum that you will “own nothing and be happy.”
The unstated implication is that the world’s resources will be owned and controlled by the technocratic elite, and you’ll have to pay for the temporary use of absolutely everything.
Nothing will actually belong to you. All items and resources are to be used by the collective, while actual ownership is restricted to an upper stratum of social class.
Just how will this imposed serfdom make you happy?
Again, the unstated implication is that lack of ownership is a convenience – they’re just making your life easier. Rent a pot and then return it. You don’t need storage space! Imagine the freedom! They even promise the convenience of automatic drone delivery straight to your door.
Artificial intelligence – which is siphoning your data about every aspect of your existence through nearly every piece of technology and appliance you own – will run your life, predicting your every mood and desire, catering to your every whim.
Ah, the luxury of not having to make any decisions!
Planned Theft Under the Cover of a Pandemic
This is the mindset they’re trying to program into you.
As just one example, in a mid-November 2020 video announcement, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said: 1
“This pandemic has provided an opportunity for a reset.
This is our chance to accelerate our pre-pandemic efforts to re-imagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality and climate change.”
Some, however, are starting to realize that these narratives of “building back better” and “resetting” the economy to ensure “equity” are proverbial mouse traps.
Once you bite the cheese, you’ll be stuck, robbed of your freedom forevermore…

The technocratic elite of course do not want you to understand the real-world ramifications of what they have planned, which is why they try to sell this diabolical idea as something that will benefit society and finally make life fair for everyone.
It’s an attractive narrative, but a dangerous fantasy to buy into.

Learn to Recognize the Great Reset Catchphrases
The WEF’s 2030 agenda is part and parcel of what is now advertised as The Great Reset, 3 a plan that originated in something called the Global Redesign Initiative, drafted by the WEF in the wake of the 2008 economic crisis.
The Transnational Institute’s website describes the initiative as,
“multi-stakeholderism” as a “new form of global governance.” 4
On a side note, as I was entering the Transnational Institute reference, I noticed the URL included the words,
“taxonomy term backup delete later.”
I don’t know if that means anything, but I archived 5 the page just in case.
Other terms and slogans that describe various facets of this global takeover agenda include:
- The Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is part of the transhumanist movement. 6 In the video above, WEF founder Klaus Schwab describes these plans
- Building Back Better
- The Green New Deal
- “Equity”
- Stakeholder capitalism
In recent days, we’ve seen a slew of world leaders come out in lockstep to denounce capitalism, saying we need “stakeholder capitalism.”
Among them is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who September 17, 2021, spoke out against capitalism at a meeting in London. 7,8
“In America, capitalism is our system, it is our economic system, but it has not served our economy as well as it should,” she said.
“So what we want to do is not depart from that, but to improve it.
You cannot have a system where the success of some springs from the exploitation of the workers and springs from the exploitation of the environment and the rest, and we have to correct that.”
President Biden is the first U.S. president to embrace stakeholder capitalism by name, 9 and leading Democrats, including Vice-President Kamala Harris and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, have presented policy proposals that would write stakeholder capitalism into law. 10
What Is Stakeholder Capitalism?
But just what is stakeholder capitalism?
If it’s fairer and makes everyone more prosperous than the shareholder capitalist system we currently have, shouldn’t we all support it?
The problem is that the way it’s described is not how it actually works in the real world.
It sounds great in theory, but the end result is not going to benefit the average person.
As reported by Ivan Wecke on Open Democracy, in an article titled “Conspiracy Theories Aside, There is Something Fishy About the Great Reset”: 11
“The set of conspiracy theories around the Great Reset are nebulous and hard to pin down, but piecing them together gives us something like this:
the Great Reset is the global elite’s plan to instate a communist world order by abolishing private property while using COVID-19 to solve overpopulation and enslaving what remains of humanity with vaccines.
Intrigued… I decided to find out what the WEF’s Great Reset plan was really about.
At the heart of conspiracy theories are supposed secret agendas and malicious intent.
While these may be absent from the WEF’s Great Reset initiative, what I found was something almost as sinister hiding in plain sight.
In fact, more sinister because it’s real and it’s happening now. And it involves things as fundamental as our food, our data and our vaccines.
The magic words are ‘stakeholder capitalism’, a concept that WEF chairman Klaus Schwab has been hammering for decades and which occupies pride of place in the WEF’s Great Reset plan from June 2020.
The idea is that global capitalism should be transformed so that corporations no longer focus solely on serving shareholders but become custodians of society by creating value for customers, suppliers, employees, communities and other ‘stakeholders.’
The way the WEF sees stakeholder capitalism being carried out is through a range of ‘multi-stakeholder partnerships’ bringing together the private sector, governments and civil society across all areas of global governance.
The idea of stakeholder capitalism and multi-stakeholder partnerships might sound warm and fuzzy, until we dig deeper and realize that this actually means giving corporations more power over society, and democratic institutions less.”
Stakeholder Capitalism Increases the Power of Corporations
The Global Redesign Initiative, which served as the basis for the Great Reset, has been described as,
“the most comprehensive proposal for redesigning global governance since the formulation of the United Nations during World War II.” 12
So, this is no minor tweak.
It’s a complete overhaul of how we do business and govern nations, not only in the U.S. but globally.
In this multi-stakeholder model, government is just one stakeholder among many.
Other stakeholders that would have to be taken into account include nongovernmental organizations such as the WEF itself and multinational corporations.
In other words,
these other stakeholders will have a say in how nations are governed…
Notice that world leaders will stress that the stakeholders include the environment and workers.
The truth, however, is that the needs and desires of workers and the natural world are hardly at the center of this model.
As explained by Wecke: 13
“Instead of corporations serving many stakeholders, in the multi-stakeholder model of global governance, corporations are promoted to being official stakeholders in global decision-making, while governments are relegated to being one of many stakeholders.
In practice, corporations become the main stakeholders, while governments take a backseat role, and civil society is mainly window dressing.”
Stakeholder Capitalism Is Taking Over by Stealth
Wecke points out that this multi-stakeholder ecosystem has already been implemented and is expanding with each passing day.
It’s not something that they’re proposing to implement in the future. Instead, they’re basically just telling us now what they’ve been doing for years already.
“Multi-stakeholder groups have spread across all sectors of the global governance system,” Wecke says, noting there are already “more than 45 global multi-stakeholder groups that set standards and establish guidelines and rules in a range of areas.”
These groups, which have no democratic accountability, consist of large multinational corporations, which recruit insiders within government, civil society and educational institutions.
Together, they claim to solve all sorts of problems that plague society.
Essentially, they believe they know what’s best for everyone, and without having been elected to speak and act on our behalf, they are making unilateral decisions that will dictate how we live, grow and prosper.
Since the first quarter of 2020, we’ve already gotten a taste of what the Great Reset will mean for public health.
It’s basically founded on the premise that we live in a biosecurity state, where these unelected ‘stakeholders’ decide what is best for us, regardless of how we feel about it.
As just one example of a multi-stakeholder “ecosystem” that is already up and running is the COVAX initiative, the aim of which is to accelerate the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines.
This initiative was created by two multi-stakeholder groups,
- GAVI
- the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI)
- in partnership with,
- the World Health Organization (WHO),
…funded by governments…
GAVI and CEPI are both tied to the WEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and a long list of drug companies.
As noted by Wecki, while governments are funding the COVAX initiative, corporate-centered coalitions (GAVI and CEPI) are overseeing and reaping the profits from the work.
We’ve already been given a glimpse of the core problem with this system, which is that it’s entirely profit-driven.
In 2020, South Africa and India sought to lift intellectual property rules on COVID-19 vaccine technologies to boost manufacturing in developing countries.
GAVI, Gates himself and the drug industry strongly opposed, as you’d expect they would.
Why?
Because public health is not their prime incentive or motivation.
Profit is…!
Profit is their main interest, and as a primary “stakeholder,” their interests must be weighed against other stakeholder interests, such as people’s want and desire to not get sick and die.
And, well, they’re at the center of the power structure, so guess whose interest wins, and will always win?
Stakeholder Capitalism Will Destroy Freedom
Wecke describes multi-stakeholderism as “the WEF’s update of multilateralism,” which is the system by which nations of the world are currently working together.
At the core is the United Nations.
So far, this system is still democratic, at least in theory, as elected leaders are the ones brought together to make global decisions.
The problem we’re facing is that,
the stakeholder capitalism now proposed is not going to deepen democracy but rather eliminate it altogether.
Its design sidelines governments and places unelected stakeholders, primarily transnational corporations, in the driver’s seat, giving them ultimate authority to make decisions for the world as a whole, which is precisely what we’ve increasingly started to experience during this pandemic.
As explained by Wecke: 14
“Put bluntly, multi-stakeholder partnerships are public-private partnerships on the global stage.
And they have real-world implications for the way our food systems are organized, how big tech is governed and how our vaccines and medicines are distributed.”
We’re in for a Medical Reset as Well
Since the first quarter of 2020, we’ve already gotten a taste of what The Great Reset will mean for public health.
It’s basically founded on the premise that we live in a biosecurity state, where these unelected “stakeholders” decide what is best for us, regardless of how we feel about it.
For example,
hospitals around the U.S. are all instructed to use the deadliest COVID treatments imaginable, and doctors who defy the guidance and actually do what is best for their patients are having their medical licenses threatened.
Merely speaking out about effective COVID treatments will put a bullseye on a physician’s back.
In countries everywhere, people are told COVID shots are the only way forward, and vaccine passports – once derided as a paranoid conspiracy theory – are being implemented.
Who made these decisions?
No one is admitting the real source of these lockstep decisions, but we can be sure they’re coming from a central hub, run by people no one ever voted into power.
Around the world, a twisted mind game is being played out, where world leaders are now telling us that vaccine passports are our “ticket to freedom,” completely ignoring the fact that our freedom is not, and cannot be, predicated on our medical choices.
Trudeau, for example, recently stated that vaccine passports are,
“all about” letting you know that “if you’ve done the right things, you get to be safe” wherever you go. 15
And those who refuse,
to do “the right thing,” well, they simply aren’t entitled to those same “freedoms”…
That the disease countermeasures we currently see for COVID-19 won’t end with COVID-19 is clear.
Already, President Biden has signed an executive order adding measles to the list of diseases for which a person can be quarantined and/or forced to self-isolate,
“to protect public health.” 16
Again, what’s being built all around us is a biosecurity state that will control every aspect of our lives under the auspice of “protecting public health,” all while doing no such thing.
It’s undeniable that the COVID countermeasures have wrought far more destruction than the virus actually did, and these countermeasures continue to destroy lives and kill people unnecessarily, all under the banner of keeping us “safe” from disease…
The fact that people are dying from,
- suicide
- starvation
- untreated medical problems
- vaccine injuries,
…well, that doesn’t count.
They’re ‘protecting us’ from COVID…!
Of course, that’ll be expanded to protecting us from other infections du jour.
In closing,
stakeholder capitalism is essentially a form of global fascism, where nations are run not by elected governments alone, but by unelected corporations in partnership with government…
As for “equity,” I wouldn’t hold my breath for that to come true.
The equity they’re talking about is all of us being in the same miserable position of owning nothing and having no human rights…

Do you think that you are free?
Most Americans would still probably answer “yes” to that question, but is that really the case?
In the film Edge of Darkness, Mel Gibson stated that “everything is illegal in Massachusetts”. Well, the same could pretty much be said for the United States as a whole.
Our lives are governed by millions of laws, rules and regulations and more are being piled on all the time. In fact, 40,000 new laws just went into effect in January.
Every single new law restricts your freedom just a little bit more. The truth is that America has become a crazy control freak nation where virtually everything that we do is highly regulated. You have probably broken multiple laws today that you don’t even know exist.
We have all become criminals and lawbreakers because almost everything is illegal at this point.
Our politicians are convinced that they are “making life better” by piling gigantic mountains of laws onto our backs, and law enforcement authorities are convinced that they are helping society by “cracking down on crime”, but the reality is that our liberties and our freedoms are being strangled by all of this government oppression.
This is not the way that America is supposed to work.
Yes, every society needs laws. But the laws should be short enough and simple enough that everybody can read them and understand them.
In America today, there is no possible way that any of us could ever read all of the laws that apply to us. Most of us just live our daily lives and try to do the “right” thing. But there is no guarantee that men with guns will not show up at your door one evening because of some obscure regulation that you have broken.
The following are 19 signs that America has become a crazy control freak nation where almost everything is illegal.
- One California town is actually considering making it illegal to smoke in your own backyard.
- In Louisiana, a church was recently ordered to stop giving out water because it did not have a permit to do so.
- In the United States it is illegal to operate a train that does not have an “F” painted on the front. Apparently without that “F” we all might not know where the front of the train is.
- In many U.S. states is it now illegal to collect rain that falls from the sky on to your own property.
- In America today it is illegal to milk your cow and sell the milk to your neighbor. If you do this, there is a good chance that federal agents will raid your home at the crack of dawn.
- In Washington D.C. it is illegal not to recycle cat litter.
- It is illegal to give a tour of the monuments in Washington D.C. without a license.
- In the United States it is illegal to sell natural cures for cancer – even if they work.
- In the state of Massachusetts it is illegal to deface a milk carton.
- In the state of Alabama, bear wrestling is completely illegal.
- In Fairbanks, Alaska it is illegal to give alcoholic beverages to a moose.
- In Lake Elmo, Minnesota it is illegal to sell pumpkins or Christmas trees that are grown outside city limits.
- There is a federal law that makes it illegal to be “annoying” on the Internet.
- If you register with a false name on MySpace or Facebook you could potentially “spend five years in federal prison“.
- In Hazelwood, Missouri it is illegal for little girls to sell girl scout cookies in the front yards of their own homes.
- All over the United States lemonade stands run by children are being shut down because they do not have the proper permits.
- In Florida, it is illegal to bring a plastic butter knife to school.
- In San Juan Capistrano, California it is illegal to hold a home Bible study without a “conditional use permit“.
- In the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania it is illegal to make even a single dollar from a blog unless you buy a $300 business license.
Sadly, this list of crazy laws and ridiculous regulations could be thousands long.
We are a nation run by a bunch of control freaks who do not care about our liberties and our freedoms.

The danger signs
were everywhere in 2022…!
With every new law enacted by federal and state legislatures, every new ruling handed down by government courts, and every new military weapon, invasive tactic and egregious protocol employed by government agents, we were reminded that,
in the eyes of the government and its corporate accomplices, “we the people” possess no rights except for that which
the Deep Stategrants on an as-needed basis…
Danger Signs
Totalitarian paranoia spiked
What we have been saddled with is a government so power-hungry, paranoid and afraid of losing its stranglehold on power that it has conspired to wage war on anyone who dares to challenge its authority.
In a Machiavellian attempt to expand its powers, the government unleashed all manner of dangers on an unsuspecting populace in order to justify its demands for additional powers to protect “we the people” from emerging threats, whether legitimate, manufactured or overblown.
The state of our nation suffered
The nation remained politically polarized, controlled by forces beyond the purview of the average American, and rapidly moving the nation away from its freedom foundation.
The combined blowback from a contentious presidential election and the
COVID-19‘pandemic’ resulted in Americans being subjected to egregious,
civil liberties violations, invasive surveillance, martial law, lockdowns, political correctness, erosions of free speech, strip searches, police shootings of unarmed citizens, government spying, and the criminalization of lawful activities.
Thought crimes became a target for punishment
For years now, the government has used all of the weapons in its vast arsenal,
surveillance, threat assessments, fusion centers, pre-crime programs, hate crime laws, militarized police, lockdowns, martial law, etc.,
…to target potential enemies of the state based on their ideologies, behaviors, affiliations and other characteristics that might be deemed suspicious or dangerous.
In other words, if you dare to subscribe to any views that are contrary to the government’s, you may well be suspected of being a domestic terrorist and treated accordingly.
In 2022, those who criticized the government – whether that criticism manifested itself in word, deed or thought – were flagged as dangerous alongside consumers and spreaders of “mis- dis- and mal-information.”
Speech was muzzled
Those who want to monitor, muzzle, catalogue and censor speech continued to push for social media monitoring, censorship of flagged content that could be construed as dangerous or hateful, and limitations on free speech activities, particularly online.
Of course, it’s a slippery slope from censoring so-called illegitimate ideas to silencing truth.

If the government can control speech, it can control thought and, in turn, it can control the minds of the citizenry.
Kill switches aimed to turn off more than just your car
Vehicle “kill switches” were sold to the public as a safety measure aimed at keeping drunk drivers off the roads, but they were a perfect metaphor for the government’s efforts to not only take control of our cars but also our freedoms and our lives.
For too long, we have been captive passengers in a driverless car controlled by the government, losing more and more of our privacy and autonomy the further down the road we go.
Currency went digital
No matter how much money the government pulls in, it’s never enough, so the government came up with a new plan to make it even easier for its agents to seize Americans’ bank accounts.
In anExecutive Orderissued in March 2022, President
Bidencalled for the federal government to consider establishing a form of digital money.
Digital currencywill provide the government and its corporate partners with a mode of commerce that can easily be monitored, tracked, tabulated, mined for data, hacked, hijacked and confiscated when convenient.
The government spoke in a language of violence
Police violence killed three people a day.
Warrior cops – trained in the worst-case scenario and thus ready to shoot first and ask questions later – did not make us or themselves any safer.
Despite this, President Biden’s pledged to expand law enforcement and so-called crime prevention through a $30 billion “Fund the Police” program.
Cancel culture became more intolerant
Cancel culture,
political correctness amped up on steroids, the self-righteousness of a narcissistic age, and a mass-marketed pseudo-morality that is little more than fascism disguised as tolerance,
…shifted us into an Age of Intolerance, policed by techno-censors, social media bullies, and government watchdogs.
Everything has now become fair game for censorship if it can be construed as hateful, hurtful, bigoted or offensive provided that it runs counter to the established viewpoint.
Homes were invaded
Government agents routinely
violated the Fourth Amendment at willunder the pretext of public health and safety.
This doesn’t even begin to touch on the many ways the government and its corporate partners-in-crime used surveillance technology to invade homes:
with wiretaps, thermal imaging, surveillance cameras, and other monitoring devices.
Political theater kept the public distracted
Having devolved into a carefully calibrated exercise in how to manipulate, polarize, propagandize and control a population, the political scene provided ample diversions with its televised Jan. 6 committee hearings, the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the Ketanji Brown Jackson confirmation hearings, and more.
Bodily integrity was undermined
Caught in the crosshairs of a showdown between the rights of the individual and the so-called “emergency” state, concerns about COVID-19 mandates and bodily integrity remained part of a much larger debate over the ongoing power struggle between the citizenry and the government over our property “interest” in our bodies.
This debate over bodily integrity covered broad territory, ranging from abortion and forced vaccinations to biometric surveillance and basic healthcare.
Although the Supreme Court overturned its earlier rulings recognizing abortion as a constitutional right under the Fourteenth Amendment, it did nothing to resolve the larger problem that plagues us today:
namely, that all along the spectrum of life – from the unborn child to the aged – the government continues to play fast and loose with the lives of the citizenry.
The government’s fiscal insanity reached new heights

national debt (the amount the federal government has borrowed over the years and must pay back) hit

It’s estimated that the amount this country owes is now 130% greater than its gross domestic product (all the products and services produced in one year by labor and property supplied by the citizens).
That debt is also growing exponentially: it is expected to be
Surveillance got creepier
On any given day, the average American going about his daily business was monitored, surveilled, spied on and tracked in more than 20 different ways, by both government and corporate eyes and ears.
In such a
surveillance ecosystem, we’re all suspects and databits to be tracked, catalogued and targeted.
With every new
AIsurveillance technology that was adopted and deployed without any regard for privacy, Fourth Amendment rights and due process, the rights of the citizenry were marginalized, undermined and eviscerated.
Precrime became more fact than fiction
Under the pretext of helping overwhelmed government agencies work more efficiently,AIpredictive and surveillance technologies were used to classify, segregate and flag the populace with little concern for privacy rights or due process.
All of this sorting, sifting and calculating was done swiftly, secretly and incessantly with the help of AI technology and a surveillance state that monitors your every move.
Where this becomes particularly dangerous is when the government takes preemptive steps to combat crime or abuse, or whatever the government has chosen to outlaw at any given time.
The government waged psychological warfare on the nation
The government made clear in word and deed that “we the people” are domestic enemies to be targeted, tracked, manipulated, micromanaged, surveilled, viewed as suspects, and treated as if our fundamental rights are mere privileges that can be easily discarded.
Aided and abetted by technological advances and scientific experimentation, the government weaponized,
- violence
- surveillance, pre-crime and pre-thought campaigns
- digital currencies, social media scores and censorship
- desensitization campaigns
- fear
- genetics
- entertainment
Gun confiscation laws put a target on the back of every American
Red flag gun laws (which authorize government officials to seize guns from individuals viewed as a danger to themselves or others) gained traction as a legislative means by which to allow police to remove guns from people suspected of being threats.
Red flag gun laws merely push us that much closer towards a suspect society where everyone is potentially guilty of some crime or another and must be preemptively rendered harmless.
The burden of proof was reversed
Although the Constitution requires the government to provide solid proof of criminal activity before it can deprive a citizen of life or liberty, the government turned that fundamental assurance of due process on its head.
Each and every one of us is now seen as a potential suspect, terrorist and lawbreaker in the eyes of the government.
The groundwork has been laid for a new kind of government where it won’t matter if you’re innocent or guilty, whether you’re a threat to the nation, or even if you’re a citizen.
What will matter is what the government – or whoever happens to be calling the shots at the time – thinks…
And if the powers-that-be think you’re a threat to the nation and should be locked up, then you’ll be locked up with no access to the protections our Constitution provides.
The Supreme Court turned America into a Constitution-free zone
Although the Court’s rulings on qualified immunity for police who engage in official misconduct were largely overshadowed by its politically polarizing rulings on abortion, gun ownership and religion, they were no less devastating.
The bottom line: there will be no consequences for cops who brutalize the citizenry and no justice for the victims of police brutality.
The FBI went rogue
The FBI’s laundry list of crimes against the American people ran the gamut from surveillance, disinformation, blackmail, entrapment, and intimidation tactics to,
- harassment and indoctrination
- governmental overreach
- abuse
- misconduct
- trespassing
- enabling criminal activity
- damaging private property,
…and that’s just based on what we know.
The government waged war on political freedom
In more and more cases, the government declared war on what should be protected political speech whenever it,
- challenges the government’s power
- reveals the government’s corruption
- exposes the government’s lies
- encourages the citizenry to push back against the government’s many injustices…
The military industrial complex waged more wars
America’s part in the showdown between
Russia and the Ukraineconveniently followed on the heels of a long line of other crises which have occurred like clockwork in order to keep Americans distracted, deluded, amused, and insulated from the government’s steady encroachments on our freedoms.
The Deep State went global
We’ve been inching closer to a
New World Orderfor the past several decades, but
COVID-19, which saw governmental and corporate interests become even more closely intertwined, shifted this transformation into high gear.
This New World Order – a Global World Order – made up of international government agencies and corporations owes its existence in large part to the U.S. government’s deep-seated and, in many cases, top-secret alliances with foreign nations and global corporations.
Thispowerful international cabal, let’s call it the
Global Deep State, is just as real as the corporatized, militarized, industrialized
American Deep State, and it poses just as great a threat to our rights as individuals under the U.S. Constitution, if not greater.
Authoritarian madness escalated
You didn’t have to be a conspiracy theorist or even anti-government to recognize the slippery slope that starts with well-meaning intentions for the greater good and ends with tyrannical abuses no one should tolerate.
When any government is empowered to adopt a comply-or-suffer-the-consequences mindset that is enforced through,
mandates, lockdowns, penalties, detention centers, martial law, and an utter disregard for the rights of the individual,
…there should be reason for concern.
The takeaway – The more things changed, the more they stayed the same
As I make clear in my book Battlefield America – The War on the American People and in its fictional counterpart The Erik Blair Diaries, if there is any means left to us for thwarting the government in its relentless march towards outright dictatorship, it rests – as it always has – at the local level, with “we the people.”
Unless we work together to push back against the government’s overreach, excesses and abuse, 2023 will be yet another terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year for freedom.

The spread of AI-driven misinformation has become the biggest and most urgent “risk” for global business leaders, as UK voters are expected to take to the polls for a general election this year, a new study has revealed:
But climate change leading to extreme weather events remains the biggest concern over the long term, according to the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual survey.
The poll of more than 1,400 global risk ‘experts’, policymakers and industry leaders revealed major concerns that ‘false information will be used to further widen societal and political divides.
It comes at a time of conflict in regions including the Middle East and Ukraine, which leaders fear will be worsened by new technologies.

the rise of “deepfake” videos appearing on social media…
The business leaders polled said they thought misinformation and disinformation – the latter of which refers to news deliberately intended to deceive people – is the biggest worldwide risk over the next two years.
It overtakes the cost-of-living crisis as the most urgent threat, according to the analysis by the WEF and compiled with Marsh McLennan and Zurich Insurance Group (both “World Economic Forum Strategic Partners“).
Close to three billion people are expected to face elections in several countries including,
- Bangladesh
- India
- Mexico
- the UK
- the US,
…over the next two years, the WEF said.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he was working toward a general election in the second half of the year.
The report comes as business leaders are set to convene in Davos later this month for the WEF annual meeting, which this year is themed “rebuilding trust”.
Meanwhile,
climate changeremains a mammoth concern for business leaders, with“extreme” weather eventsviewed as themost “severe risk“over the next decade.
And the cost-of-living crisis has stayed in focus, with the economic risks of inflation and the risk of an economic downturn included in the top 10.
Saadia Zahidi (below video), managing director of the WEF, said:
“An unstable global order characterized by polarizing narratives and insecurity, the worsening impacts of “extreme” weather and economic uncertainty are causing accelerating risks – including misinformation and disinformation – to propagate.
“World leaders must come together to address short-term crises as well as lay the groundwork for a more resilient, sustainable, inclusive future.”
But John Scott, the head of sustainability risk at Zurich Insurance Group, pointed out that emerging risks also provide “opportunities” for people and companies to work together to minimize their impact.
“The individual actions of citizens, companies and countries can move the needle on global risk reduction, contributing to a brighter, safer world,” he said.
