Please note that this file is a combination of several, so it might seem a bit disjointed.
This composite report is a long time coming. I have been around this case for over 30 years. I was first introduced to it in 1993 at the Carrows restaurant near the airport in Reno. The group that introduced me to it was a group called the Phoenix project, which was not in any way related to the Phoenix project that was infamous during the world of war in Vietnam. I had met in been in the field with members of the Phoenix project group at on several different occasions in the past up in the Sierras at a place called pilot Peak. That is a completely separate story and I will talk about that later.
In meeting the group in at the coffee shop I was introduced to several members that I’d never met before. The group consisted of Richard Miller who was retired Air Force an expert in electronics and an actual UFO Contac-D that had fun and I had been through it back in the 1950s. Second member of his group is a guy named Jack Mathias who was a retired Air Force personnel whom I had met online back in the days prior to the Internet when the electronic communication was via community computer bulletin boards. Third member of the group was a guy named Bob. I will not give his name here as he is still alive and he wants to remain anonymous. Linda Moulton Howe through some background research ultimately found that his real name and made a phone call to him direct which kind of soured this case towards the end because he didn’t want to talk about it because it was dangerous for him as the Air Force had threatened him. He was a key factor in this case for a very long time and I’ll get into that later to. There is one person in the group that I do not remember his name but he was ex-special forces and he was there security officer because a group felt threatened by the information that they knew and how they operated. And finally and in the back there was a guy who is in his 70s who I ultimately found out was a retired DIA agent. He was the one who provided the lead to the site that we were going to go out in research in the west desert of Utah.
This case came to the attention of Al, I will call him that for now, when he was working for the agency. UFO researchers have long determined that one of the key agencies in keeping the secrets of UFOs has been the Defense intelligence agency. These these folks are the military equivalent of the CIA. Because of their operational tactics I have deep respect for how they work. Al made the presentation after but it settled down had coffee and we got to know each other. He brought out a large role of what were very ancient aerial photographs dating back to the 1950s specifically may of 1953. Many of these photographs were of areas of the United States that I did not recognize but were of high mountainous areas and what appeared to be high desert country. Several tended to focus on a dry lake bed in the middle of a fairly large Valley. There were several of that area. In fact one of the pictures was a zoom in on to a triangle shaped area that diagonally crossed a dry lake bed. It was a V-shaped with the pointed area heading south to Southwest. I would say the if you drew a line straight up through the the it would been the been approximately 15° off of North. Richard started the conversation by asking me when you think of these aerial photographs, to which I said they appear to be very old, easily predating the aerial photographs that I was familiar with when I worked at Cessna at Sacramento much fault airport in the early 1960s. Richard asked me to take a closer look at the the aerial photographs that had the triangle shaped them and he said what he think of that which I said it looks like something impacted that area because if you took a look at it you could see a pattern that slid down the mountain to the southwest into the edge of the lake bed and created a fan shape across lake bed and what appeared to be debris streams up the opposite side. I told him whatever it hit in that area was fairly large. Then Richard dropped the bomb, will you think if I told you that that was a crashed area of the UFO. I told him it certainly look like that was a possibility. He then said take a close look at the date on those photographs. All of them were dated in very early June 1953. Then Richard made a statement that kinda shocked me. We think that this particular impact was directly related to a series of UFO crashes that occurred down in Kingman Arizona in very late May 1953. That case is been fairly extensively investigated and although not all of it has become made public, it has been very much looked into by people in the UFO investigative field. I would later find out that the Kingman crash although initially reported as a single craft was actually a number of them and that the occupants that survived some of them were actually taken into custody by the local Sheriff. The general consensus of the people in the UFO field was that these craft were observing one of the largest atomic bomb tests that occurred around that date. One thing that I have learned over the years is that for some reason UFOs earned very dramatically affected by the effects of atomic weapons. Has tendency to knock out there guidance systems and bring them to the ground. Same goes true with the Roswell crash or crashes since there is actually to, one the Roswell and the other up at the planes of Augustine. Many feel that the reason why the craft came down at that time was a massive thunderstorm’s in the area coupled with the extent with the extensive radar activity which pretty much set up there I guidance system.
After the presentation was made to me about what they had surmised about these aerial photographs Richard brought out a very old what appeared to be logbook that was from a research facility that was very very close to were this impact in Utah occurred. It was about 3 miles away. This facility was an old research station called the desert research experimental station and that ever since the late 30s had been investigating the exact effects of the desert encroachment on less air and land it was a biological and I research station that was quite large covered an area that was about 10 mi.² and was all fenced off and had its own facility which amounted to a little military style village of about four houses bathroom facilities garages tennis courts and a little powerstation which had diesel generator and it and it set out in the middle of nowhere out in the middle of the desert on the west side of of Utah real close to the the Nevada border. The guidebook was dated in the very early 1980s and he the set open it up and take a look at some of the the entries and take a look at who had been out that the a particular facility. I did so and as I’m cruising through looking at all of the biologists and the field researchers names and where they came from a fuel additional entries jumped out of the page at me as they did not appear to be in any way related to scientific research. There was one that was from Fort Carson Colorado U.S. Army which I knew from experience was the one of the main Army intelligence bases in the Western United States. There was one who was a very high executive with warmth I call whom I knew from experience was the creator and builder of the auxiliary engines in the site in the space shuttle. There was one who is from U.S. Air Force command center. And several others that definitely did not appear to be related to scientific research and I found that highly strange. My thought was what the heck were these guys do not here in this little research station out of the middle freaking nowhere. At that time I immediately flashed on the image that appeared in the movie the Andromeda strain when the two scientists were driving up to this little house out in the middle of nowhere they walked in the door and through a closet elevator went down to a massive underground research facility. This whole thing reminded me that Richard then told me that his group had been out to that site on several occasions and at one time one of the members had gone in to one of the main buildings through a cold shoot and that’s where he discovered the tube of aerial photographs and the logbook which they brought back to Reno be evaluated. They had noticed in their numerous visits out there that when they initially got there the main drive coming in from the highway which was asphalt very old with numerous cracks in it with grass growing up to grass of which was about maybe 34 inches high did not appear to be traveled on hardly ever but as they had come back they notice that this it changed know the grasses all moved down and areas around the buildings had been cleaned up parts of the old buildings which these buildings looked ancient the they were right out of the 1930s and 40s military style buildings had received a fresh coat of paint and they looked inside the windows which had new curtains on them and they saw that the entire interior of the buildings was all cleaned up there are new microwaves coffee pots disliked the whole place of been in a referred. They found that to be highly strange considering this place looked deserted and abandoned.
Richard then asked me Steve would you like to become involved in this project we think that there is something that went on here and we do think that it was related to the Kingman crash. I told him yes this looks like a very intriguing case. All of this occurred in 1993, and in 1996 I had a chance to see this facility for stand as they had taken me out to the little town of to Tooele Utah where I had become the service manager of a Dodge dealership. To Tooele is a very small town approximately 25 miles to the west of Salt Lake City and it is right next to the of to Tooele Army base which housed mass quantities of biological weapons and very close by also to the Dugway proving grounds where biological weapons had been researched and tested over the years.
Bigger than Roswell
The Roswell case has long been considered granddaddy of all UFO cases. There have been tons of of witnesses who have come forward over the years to very much cement this particular case in human history. There are however other cases that are quite large and have had numerous people coming forward to verify their occurrence. One such case, and the opinion of this author, that is of equal importance if not more significant than the Roswell case. This is the case of what occurred in late May 1953 in Kingman Arizona.
The thing that I find most intriguing about this particular case is what appears to been a major effort to minimalize the information about it. Up until recently, it has appeared to have been just a minor crash that occurred in the outskirts of Kingman Arizona in and around May 20, 1953. However, according to the research of anthropologist and historian Harry Drew, this case was way more complex and way bigger than Roswell. According to him, this event which occurred: siding with a series of American atom bomb tests at the Nevada yucca flat site, involved up to 11 UFOs, two of which had documented crashes, one of which that put down, and 44 aliens some of which were dead and others that were captured several of these aliens even were held in the local jail.
What has long been particularly intriguing to me, is that I was directly involved in the research of an incident that occurred quite a bit at the same time up in the west desert of the state of Utah in a dry lake bed approximately 3 miles to the east of what is known as the desert research experimental station, or DRES. When I first became involved in this case back in the early 1990s, I was shown a series of very old one shot aerial photographs that had the date stamp on them that matched up with the date of the Kingman crash. This series of aerial photographs were of the area immediately around the dry lake bed in Utah and also focused on what very much appeared to be an impact site in that dry lake bed. The direction of this impact as indicated by the pattern which is still visible from space today points and arrow and directly at Kingman Arizona.
The fact that Harry Drew has concluded that there were up to 11 UFOs involved in this incident Kingman, tells me that there is a very good chance that one of them either partially damaged or coming down from a systems failure did in fact crash and that West desert Utah location.
From the time that I was first exposed to this information in the very early 1990s by a group out of Northern Nevada, until I took a major UFO researcher out to that site in the summer of 2005, bits and pieces of information have come out that I feel are related. First a couple of observations. From a pure logistical standpoint it makes sense that a downed craft of size could not have been brought out in one piece by either a helicopter, a group of helicopters,or an aircraft. The most likely method of removal would have been on the top of a very large truck and trailer affair or a group of trailers. This would’ve required a relatively wide road. There is in fact such a road that only goes north from this dry lake bed alone. The road does not go south with any with, just north. Asphalt road is 3 miles to the south of the lake bed. This widened road heads straight north. Approximately 100 miles north is a major United States Air Force and U.S. Army facility that to this day has fairly high security. This facility is called the Dugway proving grounds. For a very long time it has been used to test toxic materials and various forms of ordinance that were not atomic. Southwest of this base appears a structure that is very large, round and submerged under the ground level.
During the latter part of my research, I came across a story about an individual who lived out in the wilds of this area very close to this Dugway structure. This person had experienced several UFOs coming down and landing very near his trailer and apparently had gotten to know the occupants. He was a retired photographer from Dugway. The story has it that the occupants of these UFOs were overlooking for some of their people. None other than Richard Doty has discussed this during an interview on a YouTube video with Dr. Steven Greer.
According to research Harry Drew who appeared on the UFO research scene back around 2012 when he made a presentation at at least one of the conferences that were floating around back then, specific leave the one that occurred in Santa Clara. Drew is an anthropologist and historian by profession and he has a number of historical works in particular that have his name on them. According to what I have read his research is quite thorough. Back at that time he was promoting a DVD that he had produced and the book that pertains to a long known crash that occurred in Kingman Arizona in May 1953. Back in the early 1990s I became involved in what I was told and I felt was a related crash that occurred out into the west desert of Utah at the same time.
According to the cover sheet which is available on the Internet, the events that occurred in late May 1953 over Kingman Arizona involved, according to first hand eye witness accounts, 11 UFOs, one of which landed, two of which crashed in that immediate area, 44 ET’s, six of whom were taken alive, four of whom were taken dead, and to a phone were taken to the local Sheriff’s office and ultimately escaped. My question is what happened to the remaining UFOs that did not crash in that immediate area, and that brings me to why I was involved in the research and the west desert of Utah.
Back in the early 1990s, when I had met with Richard Miller’s Phoenix project group at the Carrows restaurant by the Reno airport, I was shown approximately 12 original, not copies, aerial photos that were on heavy mat photo stock. The one thing that immediately impressed me, at the time, was that these aerial photographs were not made the way that aerial photographs were made later on in the 1950s. The reason that I know this, was that I worked for Patterson aircraft, a Cessna dealer, here in Sacramento at that time and I had on occasion to see aerial photographs that were made during that time. Based on this it was my assessment at that meeting that these were in fact old military aerial photographs, and that they’d focused on a specific area of Western Utah it seemed to center around several of which showed a triangle shaped impact pattern that crossed a dry lake bed. I proceeded to make photocopies of all of these for my own reference. At the time I did not make the connection between the Kingman crash(s) and the dates marked clearly on these photographs. I still have these copies to this day. One thing that I noted to Richard at the time was that these photographs appear to have been made from a very high-altitude.
Because of the time frame I later became aware of the significance and possible relatedness to the Kingman crash. Harry drew’s analysis of the events occurred down there indicates to me that there is a distinct possibility that at least on of the remaining UFOs that have left the area might have crash landed into that lake bed. What adds to that is the incoming direction of that event points directly towards Kingman Arizona.
So why this little Valley out in the middle of nowhere in Western Utah. Was it just happenstance or was the craft that came down if there if that is what was have purpose involved. During my research of that impact area I had hired a geologist out of Salt Lake City and one of the things that he commented on at the time was the fact that the mountain range immediately to the east of the dry lake bed is the location of one of the world’s largest deposits of a very specific type of crystal called a beryllium quartz crystal. That factoid very much piqued my interest.
Another fact that has always intrigued me about the images of this impact are the dynamic nature’s. Whatever it was it came down came in at a relatively shallow angle I estimated at approximately 15° and it skidded down the slope on the southern end of the dry lake bed impacted the lake bed and kicked up what appeared to be turbulence that rocked all away across the dry lake bed which at that time was not dry because of the spring runoff and several hundred feet up the opposite side of the dry lake bed. All images that have 10 been taken from high-altitude still show that particular a fact to this day. I have long concluded that this was significant and to me impacted that whatever it was that skidded down that slope into that lake bed had a fair amount of mass and was moving at a relatively high speed.
As a mentioned to Linda Moulton Howe when I got in involved with her on what subsequently was her presentation in 2005 it the crash retrieval conference, I had witnessed the impact sites of at least one very large aircraft, a B-52s it crashed to the southwest of the corner of Bradshaw Road and Jackson highway in Sacramento California. Aircraft crashes do not leave that kind of patternDRES the rest of the story.
One thing that has been lacking for quite some time has been the back story on what happened prior to my getting involved with the case in Utah. It all started back in the early 1990s when I first met and got to know the Richard Miller group that he called the Phoenix project. I had first met them through one of their members who had gone into my bulletin board and posted messages related to the UFO subject. His name was Jack Mathias. Like Richard Miller he was retired U.S. Air Force, and it seems that many the people in the Phoenix project were also retired U.S. Air Force. Over the time that Jack Mathias posted on my bulletin board, it became clear to me that he and the other members of the group were familiar with the subject of UFOs. Early on, to test their basic knowledge of the intelligence agency background on the subject, I asked him about a group that I had heard of called the Aviary. I had heard about this group, I do not remember where, but their nature intrigued me. Much to my surprise, Richard Miller himself made a reply after a day or so, that outlined the complete list of members of the Aviary group. At that time there were not a whole lot of people in and the research community that were aware of who these folks were and their positions in the government and or the military. A couple of weeks later I was invited to meet the group, or key members of the group at a lunch meeting in Carson City. During that meeting it became clear to me that they were very keen on security, which I later became much more aware of why this was the case. When I learned was that several members of the group had high security clearances either in intelligence agency work, or military groups. In addition, over time I became aware of the history of the Richard Miller group, his involvement with the Solar Cross group up in Clearlake, which he had become estranged with over the years. I also learned that Richard Miller was truly knowledgeable about electronics equipment. His normal 9-to-5 job was he worked for RadioShack in Carson City. Over the next couple of years I would become much more familiar with this ticket with this group. One thing I should point out is that I never became a member of their group, but they chose to chip to share information with me that I was not aware of previously. In about 1994 Richard asked if I could come up to Reno and meet his group for coffee at the Carrows by the Reno airport. When I sat down with them there was an additional person in attendance that I had not known before. Richard introduced him and told me that this gentleman was retired military intelligence, I think he said DIA. After we had sat down and had coffee Richard brought out and placed on the table a large role of documents. Included in including in this was about 10 to 15 rolled up very old aerial photographs which he asked me to take a close look at to see what my impression of them would be. The one thing that became clear was that it seemed like the pilot of the plane that was taking the photographs was focused on one area, and that would be the area where the strange triangular shape pattern appeared and this dry lakebed. He then asked me to take note of the date of these photographs, which was I believe May 1953. He asked me what my evaluation was, and I told him that these photographs formed a pattern around this one strange triangular shape figure. He then started to tell me a story of what it happened abroad that information into his possession.
Apparently, the new member of the group had advised him that there was a place in Western Utah where an unidentified flying object had crashed back in the late spring of 1953, and that he had heard about this from other members of his agency, some of whom lived in that area of Nevada. Richard then proceeded to tell me that the Phoenix group had gone out to that area of Utah and explored around the site of this impact. They became keenly aware of an abandoned US government property out there in that area that is called the desert research experimental station. The closer that they looked at that facility the more questions that they had here was an abandoned facility that upon further investigation had new microwaves modern furniture clean interiors and what appeared to be these old Ranch shackled buildings that looked like they had been built 50 to 75 years ago. The speak their interest. After looking around the facility they decided to do some interior investigation inside one of the buildings, so one of the members climbed down through a cold shoot on the side of the building into the basement. Down in that basement which was in the center building as you look at the facility coming in the gate was a large group of documents and the roles of aerial photographs. There was also a logbook dating back into the early part of 1980s. They decided at that time to take these back to Carson City with them and look them over.
They also noted that the site look so abandoned that paved road leading back into it had grass growing up in the cracks in the road and it didn’t look like there had been any vehicle traffic in many years. If it were not for the interior improvements inside the buildings which included new furniture clean facilities and like I said a new microwave, they would’ve written this office just an abandoned site.
Upon going back to Carson City a sat down with the old, retired DIA agent and talked about the site. He told them that apparently the site had been used for things other than its original purpose which was as a research facility where the Department of Agriculture, which had utilized this property since the 1930s to study the encroachment of deserts.
About a week or so later, Richard was at work at his normal RadioShack job, when an acquaintance of his whom he knew was military intelligence retired came up to him and said “Rich, I think you have something of ours and we need it back.” Rich’s response was I do not know what you are talking about and the person responded by saying oh yes you do you know exactly what I’m talking about. At this point Richard knew that his little group that stumbled upon something quite significant, so they went into deep security mode. He also knew that either they had followed he and his group out there or that they had Intel from inside of his group which is concerned him quite a bit. At this point you can see why Richard and his group the Phoenix project had been very cautious about the way that they operated, with a very great concern for security.
Now getting back to the coffee meeting when Rich and his group that shown me this this material, he showed me the logbook that they had taken. Inside of the logbook, which was a period from about 1979 to 1981, there were log entries from people you would normally expect to see at a desert research experimental station such as agronomists know plant biologists and various other scientific disciplines. But in this particular section of the log there were a number of entries that did not make any sense to me. There was one individual that was from the U.S. Army’s base at Fort Carson Colorado and there was also an entry from a gentleman who was the vice president of Thiokol the rocket manufacturerThe one entry that really piqued my interest was a gentleman from the U.S. Air Force command center. At the time, and this continues to be true to this day, I have always been doubtful or skeptical that these names were causally related to that ambiguous object imprint that was in that dry lakebed about 3 miles away from this little facility. Upon further investigation, I had determined that the likely reason for these names in this logbook was the fact that back around that time, which was in the heat of the Cold War, the US government had considered using the Valley that the desert research experimental station and that dry lakebed or in as a site for what was considered to be a new form of intercontinental ballistic missile launching facilities. However, I did not completely discount the possibility that the two things were connected. The project involving the Valley was what was to become the MX missile project. This brings me to an aside, one of over a dozen that I came across in researching this facility. Back around 2001 or 2002 I came across a story about a I retired military contractor who lived in Las Vegas. Apparently after Vietnam ended, this gentleman was owed a large sum of money by the federal government and he requested as part of his payment several of the helicopters that were being retired after the war. After he settled in Las Vegas he started a a business that utilized these helicopters for various projects. Somewhere along the line he became aware of what I was looking into up in that Valley is called the Hamlin Valley. One day took one of his helicopters and flew up to the Valley to look around. He was looking at signs of construction and he stated that he came across to a and prototype missile silo on the southern end of the Valley. At the time I heard this story, I decided to put this information in the databank for future pictures of the possible use. I wasn’t sure how it was related, but I just thought that I would keep that information there as part of an evaluation which is some a method that I utilize all the time. Another piece of information that I find potentially related and in and very interesting is a story that came from a rancher who lived just south of the southern end of the Hamlin Valley. She had gone horse riding with her dog up through the canyon and into the southern end of the Hamlin Valley and was riding around the that area when she came across nothing other than a Bigfoot that was out in the middle of nowhere in the middle of this very desolate Southern Utah Valley. It was a female because she did have breasts, and when the rancher came across it, the creature was defecating. Her horse and her dog both got freaked out when they saw the creature and started to react negatively, so she decided to leave, as did the Bigfoot which went in the opposite direction.
After hearing the stories about this facility for a number of years after the meeting at the Carrows and Reno by the airport, circumstance was to bring me out to the that area of the country with a new job. At the time, I had gotten laid off from the particular dealership that I worked for because business was slow and I was looking for work. Somehow online I came across a want ad for a service manager out in a little town called Tooele, which is about 30 miles west of Salt Lake City. After settling in to this new job, after relocating 650 miles away from my home and my children [my wife and I were estranged at the time], I decided that on a free weekend I would drive down and check the place out. The DRES facility is about 150 miles south of Tooele. When I got there the very first thing that impressed me was how isolated it was. From what I could see there wasn’t another living creature within 50 to 75 miles. I proceeded to look around the little complex and it was very much as Richard Miller had described it to be. I peeked in the Windows, which had new curtains on them, and saw the clean interiors new furniture and new microwave that Richard had told me about. The very first thought they came to my mind is what the hell is this place being used for. There was no evidence of recent usage. At the time I do not recall seeing either the new solar array that had been built out by the well or the antenna that I showed to Linda. The main thing that I observed was just how weathered and beaten up the structures of that little complex were. They showed no evidence whatsoever of any kind of care within recent history. I did observe the little plaque that is at the entrance of the little complex that dedicated the site to being a United Nations biosphere. I thought that was particularly strange, but after later research I came to the conclusion that it made perfect sense that if there was research being done at this site and it was a great example of the encroachment of desert. I stayed there for about an hour and decided that I would return to Tooele, through Ely. Reason why did this is because Ely has a very strong presence in my family’s history, as my stepfather and his brother were both born there, and my grandfather had been the sheriff back around the turn-of-the-century.
Upon returning to the little town that I was staying in, I contemplated what was going on out there. I am not sure whether it was happenstance or fate, but the place that I ended up staying at their in that little town was a place called Kirk Hotel. The one thing that I had noticed during the early days of my stay at the hotel was the presence of out-of-state cars and bands from places that really piqued my interest. Specific to those were cars with Virginia license plates and bands from a company called EG and G, the latter of which is the company that administers the properties at area 51, my thoughts were what the hell are these folks doing here.
The next day, on Sunday, I decided to go into Salt Lake City and look around. It was 1996 in July and the last time that I had been in Salt Lake City was in the fall of 1974 after I had spent a summer out there chasing after a beautiful redhead. At the time that relationship had not worked out so I returned to California and to finish my last year at California State University Sacramento. This was 1996 and things really hadn’t changed that much except the city had expanded quite a bit to the south. I cruised down State Street and decided to pull into a shopping mall in the southern part of Salt Lake City proper. I believe the name of the shopping mall was was the Fairview and it was quite large. As I walked through the mall I came across a Walden bookstore and with my love of books I decided to go in and see what they had. One thing that I discovered back in 1974 was that the Salt Lake City area had several old bookstores that had some very rare old books in them. As is usual I headed straight for the area of the store that had the books pertaining to UFOs. As I was standing there perusing through the books a very tall slender gentleman walked up to me and asked me if I had an interest in the subject I said yes. He then introduced himself as Jim Woody and that he was the assistant state director of MUFON and what I like to attend their monthly meeting. I said sure that sounds interesting.
Mildred Bissell was the state director of Utah MUFON, and she lived in a southern suburb of Salt Lake City. The meeting was held monthly at her house and the group usually ended up being between 10 and 20 people. The first meeting I went to it was very pleasant and she was a great hostess and was a very knowledgeable person on UFOs she had a huge library. Jim what he was there along with about 10 other people. About halfway through the meeting a guy showed up and introduced himself to me as Ryan Layton. He advised the group that he had just gotten back from the Fort Duchenne area to the east of Salt Lake City where he had been talking to the owner of a ranch that had some very strange occurrences on it. This was to become what is now known and is world-famous as being the Skinwalker Ranch. After the meeting and over the next couple of weeks I would spend a fair amount of time with Ryan and had several meetings with Jim Woody. It was during those little meetings especially out of Jim’s house, that I would learn the true nature of what was going on out at Dugway proving grounds. This would explain all the strange vehicles that belong to people who were staying at the Kirk Hotel in Tooele I was. Apparently Jim was a retired chemist who had worked out at Dugway proving grounds along with his wife. The facility was right on the opposite side of the of the mountain from the little town called Rush Valley that they lived in. During our talks. Jim would come to tell us that he had learned that a large portion of the mission from area 51 had been moved out to Dugway, primarily due to all of the publicity that was being focused on area 51. One of the main areas on that base that had been dramatically improved over a short period of time prior to our be in there was the refurbishment and complete rebuild of the old Michael Army airfield, which had an extremely long runway. Over the months that followed a fair amount of disinformation would come out trying to deflect attention away from that airfield. A Salt Lake City television show talked about how there were rumors about the base being refurbished but the funds were just not been allocated and they just proceeded to show the old broken up runway that had existed out there since the 1940s. Ironically in the summer of 2005, when I took Linda Moulton Howe out to that the area that base was buzzing with activity.
The with the following months, while I managed the little Dodge Jeep dealership service department there in that little Utah town, the base personnel and the people from EG&G would bring their vehicles in to have them worked on. All of this happening to a guy who’d been around the high strangeness of the UFO situation back in California who had ironically moved out to Utah to work.
After several months working at that little Dodge dealership, the owner of the place very much went back on his original verbal contract with me and even though I was turning that facility around he cut my pay. After that I became very disillusioned and decided to go back to California. What made this particularly urgent was that my son called me very upset on the phone telling me the transmission in our car back there that he had been using he and his sister had become stranded in Los Banos when the transmission went out. I left the next day and never look back at that little town. I did continue to have a fairly good relationship with Ryan Layton over the next several years as my interest in the little facility out in Western Utah continued. Really got to know the little town that is right there on the border called Baker Nevada and got some very good information and made some good contacts several of which were referred to Linda Moulton Howe when we did the research project that summer of 2005. I would continue to meet with Jim Woody and his little house in Rush Valley, and ever since his passing, I really feel privileged to have met the gentleman. It became very clear to me that something really had happened out there and that the Richard Miller group is not just bought smoke at me.
Back in Sacramento I continue to meet periodically with Richard and his group, in particular himself and one other member of his group who was the one that went down the cold shoot and got the documents out of the building. This gentleman I will call him Tom as he is still alive today, started to fill me in on some of the things that happened to him while he was in the Air Force working on the UFO recovery project. Apparently he had been the load master on a C1 41 that would fly all around the world including behind the Iron Curtain to pick up crashed UFO debris and bring it back to California. He told me that this debris was taken to a special facility at Edwards Air Force Base. This facility was directly below the largest hanger that was on the base which had a false floor in it. This false floor was basically a in an elevator that went down several hundred feet into an underground salt mine which is where all the materials stored.
Apparently the agencies that he had worked for had gotten tired of his talking and he got a visit one night at about 3 o’clock in the morning. The knock came on the door and he was asked to get dressed and come with them and that they needed to talk to him. He was taken in downtown Sacramento and into what is currently a state building at the corner of 10th and L. This building is part of the department of equalization and he was taken to the 13th floor that building which ironically has no windows unlike the rest of the force on that building. He was taken into a large room which was devoid of any furniture office barriers with the exception of a table with a television and some chairs and he was asked to sit down he was then shown what appeared to of been a spy satellite image of several of his places of dwelling down to the detail of what was on the front porch. He was then told that he needed to be quiet or else he would receive another walk with me talk with me walk in the park. He got the point very quickly and was very shaken and later on that day told me about this. This in a nutshell is a reason why he really wasn’t that interested in talking to Linda Moulton Howe about the case out in the West Utah desert. After my experience with John Hadley and what it happened to him I was very much aware of how nasty these folks could get and I very much appreciated his desire to be quiet. This however was not the end of the matter, as during the following weeks when he he and Richard moved up to some property that he had in the northern Sierras Richard had come down with a very rapidly moving form of brain cancer. My impression at the time was that apparently the alphabet agencies had decided that they needed to quiet this old soldier. This is not the first time that this is occurred in the study of UFOs as many people who have been in and around this field for years well attest to. My feeling has long been that if they couldn’t misdirect you with this information like that brought out by Richard Doty and people like him, they would simply take you out and about a very subtle way I call it the cobalt letter technique.
After Richard’s passing Tom and I and the rest of Richard’s old group parted company. We said goodbye to each other at a little café and Yuba City Marysville and he told me that he’s what he was moving out of the area that he had received a job elsewhere. I very much respected that that decision as it was very much like that decision of several of John Hadley’s friends after he got taken out. One thing comes to mind that after Richard’s passing I had gone through some real soul-searching on what I was gonna do with the old West Utah site case. In the mid-1990s I had walked away from my old group that I had formed in Sacramento that had produced so many nice experiences and research opportunities. It was in the early 2000’s I think approximately 2001 when Richard passed and I had been dating a wonderful Latin lady in the bay area whom I wouldn’t would subsequently be with for about another eight years. During that time I had hooked up with Les Velez, the assistant state director of California North MUFON. I proceeded to fill him in on all my experiences or at least most of them out in Utah and he became interested in the case and we decided to work together on it. Les had considerably more contacts and I had having been around the national or even international field of ufology for a very long time. He knew a lot of the big-name players.
Les never had the opportunity to meet any of Richard Miller’s people but he did know several of the members of my group in Sacramento, the most important one was Mark Dean. Mark had been in and around the field of ufology for several years and knew a number of the players in the Bay Area as that’s where he grew up. Marks dad was a researcher at rad labs which is a subcontractor of Lawrence Livermore labs. Mark was also a talented channel and he had great psychic abilities, and as such he had become a protégé of a physicist who worked for IBM and was very much into the paranormal. All of this started back in the 1970s during which time the Stanford research Institute was doing research in the paranormal and remote viewing in Palo Alto under Russell Tarq and Dr Hal Putoff.
During the period between about 2001 and 2005, Les and I would meet out in the west desert Utah at the facility in question. We would stay in Baker Nevada and hang out at a little bar bar called the Outlaw bar and grill. Over time it became known in that little area when I was up to and I started to get people coming forward to talk to me all of this convinced me that there was in fact something that had gone on out there back in the late spring of 1953 and that it was worth further checking into. It was a tough nut to crack. The case was sold the physical evidence was all but gone except the aerial photographs taken from the airplanes back in the early 50s, coupled with satellite photos of the area today which essentially showed the same thing. Most of what happened after Les introduced me to Linda Moulton Howe is a matter of record in her little video that she had shown to the crash retrieval conference held by Ryan would in the fall of 2005.
One thing that I want to point out, is that when Linda Moulton Howe and Ryan Layton and I went out to Baker in the summer of 2005, there were a series of events that occurred that very much colored this case over the next year or so. I should tell you that over the time period that I had known Ryan Layton it became clearly evident to me that he had a major crush on Linda Moulton Howe and that he was constantly trying to impress her. What made it particularly awkward on this particular weekend out in Baker was that she was focusing on my case not a Ryan Layton case and apparently this started to eat at him as the weekend progressed. He was constantly trying to improve and impress her and garner her attention away from me. He had had a personal experience further north in the west desert in an area just south of Wendover that he really wanted to talk to her about. Finally after a fair amount of verbal harassment about it we both decided that we would go up there and and take a look at that area. I had told her about Michael Army airfield and what was going on at Dugway and figured that I could show her that on her way back to Salt Lake City. So we got in the rental vehicle that I had gotten and drove through Ely of Highway 95 towards Wendover. When you’re about 30 miles south of Wendover there is a highway that turns to the right and it goes out towards a little village called Gold Hill. This road continues to the south along the western edge of the Bonneville salt Flats to an area where you can set up an observation of what was going on at Michael Army airfield and Dugway proving grounds that evening. During that ride Ryan proceeded to tell Linda about what it happened to him in the desert up real close to Gold Hill when he had been essentially kidnapped and taken out to the desert by a couple of of guys and that they had had an encounter with a probe that had come streaming across the desert at them at low altitude. After viewing the activity at Michael Army airfield for about an hour and a half we got back in the rental vehicle and started to head back up north to Wendover and where we were going to rent a hotel room for the night. On our way back when Gold Hill and Highway 95 Linda and Ryan got into a very heated discussion and basically Linda lambasted him pretty heavily and told him that his reality was not necessarily what everyone else’s reality was. This infuriated Ryan and he really went off and he basically fumed until we got back to Wendover when he requested that I drop them off on the street and that he would find his own way home he was really upset. Linda and I then proceeded in the hotel got separate rooms for the night and the next morning I took her to the airport and said my goodbyes to her. I did not see Ryan for the rest of the weekend went back to my hotel and the following day caught the train back to us to Sacramento.
Linda and I continue to work on the and the project on into the fall. Even though I had not given her the the name of my contact Tom, Linda somehow got the information and called him on the phone. Proceeded to pepper him with questions very much in the way that most news related people do. She really pressed him. Considering what Tom had the gone through up in Sacramento he basically shined her on during the conversation which aggravated her quite a bit and she accused me of lying to her which I had never done. I had been honest and forthright with Linda Moulton however since the beginning and the same goes with Les Velez.
Linda made her presentation at the crash retrieval conference given by Ryan would in the fall of 2005. Her presentation was very good in my opinion and the response to it was very positive throughout the community. The video of her presentation was put up on YouTube and subsequently garnered over 70,000 views. During her talk at the crash retrieval conference Linda mentioned that she had I contacted Joe McMonagle and had him remote view the site. His analysis was astonishing. She also talked to John Lear who proceeded to tell her that from what he had gathered the craft was taken to an area of the Dugway proving grounds facility called Charlie area. And buried. To this day if you look very good very closely at the area in the southwest part of the Dugway complex you will see a round facility that looks like something is buried underneath the ground. I strongly suspect that that is where the craft was originally taken to. Richard Doty, in his interview with Dr. Stephen Greer, tells a little story that he says he’s never told before and this involves his going up to Utah out to the Dugway range to interview a person who worked at Dugway as a photographer and lived in the area of the Fish Springs wildlife refuge. According to Doty, this person had had aliens land their craft very close to where he lived out there and that he had been communicating with them. It was my impression that they were looking for some of their people. The man did not mention that they had mentioned a crash and that the craft of been brought there but I strongly suspect that that is the case. It should be noted that Richard Miller had made the comment to me early on in this investigation that he had been told by his DIA contact that when the crash occurred that there were survivors and that they were in that area.
Later on in the interview with Dr. Greer, Doty told the story about how he had gone to the S-4 facility and that there was a large craft that was in that facility that to his knowledge that they had never been able to get inside of. He said that it was generally pristine except it had what appeared to be undercarriage damage. I strongly suspect that this is our craft from the west desert of of Utah.
Getting back to the time after Linda’s visit to Utah and her presentation at the the crash retrieval conference it came out that the new director of the Utah state MUFON chapter had gone out to the west desert site with Ryan Layton and interviewed the US government caretaker of that site. This person proceeded to write a presentation attempting to debunk the whole case and it was presented to his organization and they put it in a monthly newsletter. I politely requested a copy of this presentation so that I could see what was said and it was refused to me. Not only did I consider this to be unprofessional, unscientific and in many ways unethical, I found it incredulous that this an organization this large would would do that something like that. In many ways it reinforced my decision not to of ever joint that at organization over the past years that I had been in this intellectual pursuit. I have numerous friends who are members including Les who is the asst. state director in Northern California, and I do not hold that against him it’s just my personal preference I’m not a joiner. I considered the source of the information in the in the report and strongly felt that he was in the same category as a member of my UFO group in Sacramento who was also along that same lines of thought. Both were ex-government or contractor employees. Both had had high security clearance. And both ended up being in places attempting to debunk me after I had stumbled across something that was particularly sensitive. The previous TR 3B case was a classic example of that. I find it interesting that that same person from Utah seem to end up either being a group member or commenting on some other interesting cases in that area of the country. In addition to that when the movie documentary was made for YouTube called the Mirage men. This gentleman was in the movie. All that I could do at that point was to shake my head and move on with my life. Coming from the automobile business as my 9-to-5 work, I had been thrown under the bus by a number of people over the years, and it never is easy or fun. All you can do is pick yourself up yourself off and continue with your life and just consider the source. That is what I did. Over the years I have given up on trying to communicate on a positive note with Ryan Layton. I wish him the best, but one of the things that I have seen over the years is his ego has actually been his main driving force and I personally do not agree with that tactic. Ryan is who Ryan is and there’s nothing I can do about that so I just let it be and let that the whole thing go away.
Throughout my entire life I have considered myself to be a third-party observer of people. That is the reason why social anthropology and social psychology were a very good fit for me as college majors. As I tell everyone in my bio in cultural anthropology my main field of interest was myth and religion fringe cults and folklore. In social psychology my main thrust was perception and information processing. This educational combination has given me a very interesting perspective on how I look at dead various cases and how I look at what goes on in the world around us. I am very keenly aware of just how interested the federal government has been in manipulating people, changing their perceptions, and directing them in and ways that they prefer that they go. I often refer to it as operant control therapy and if you look at the history since World War II when the Germans had gotten into this very much this makes a whole lot of sense. At I strongly agree with Jim mars who is indicated that we really didn’t win the war in Germany it just went underground. German scientist came over to the United States in operation paperclip and they were placed in isolated facilities all around the country to do their work in a surreptitious way. Recently a number of authors have commented on this with some very very good work. Unfortunately it paints a picture of a world that has been pushed to the brink and in many ways is verging on a Civil War. Human beings tonight like being screwed with and once they realize that that’s what’s going on there reaction can be quite violent. The powers that be do a lot of the things that they do in plain sight and in less you are able to see what is going on, they will continue to do it in a not-so-subtle way. The whole UFO question has had them concerned because it’s something that they have no control over or if they do vary in a very small amount of control. It is obvious by past behavior and patterns of activity that the visitors have distinctly jaded view of the human race. I strongly suspect that they consider us to be extremely dangerous and a long-term threat to them as a species. Only history will tell.
As I take a step back and take a look at what is occur to me over my lifetime, what is occur to my friends and/or Associates, it leaves me with a great deal of apprehension and sadness. I strongly feel that we are a species that is on the brink of extinction of our own making.
